There will be a grand opening for a new shade structure on Wednesday, May 18th from 6 to 8pm at the corner of Blaine and Thurman in the Botanical Heights neighborhood. This new structure was designed and fabricated by Washington University Students in a design build studio of HDPE plastic that was CNC milled and fabricated. Marc Fornes (& theverymany) along with Ken Tracy, Visiting Assistant Professor of Architecture of Washington University in St. Louis, lead this rhino scripted, digitally fabricated student project. Confluence’s own Sarah Gibson served as a neighborhood representative on this project.
