Confluence designed, fabricated and installed this custom set of kitchen casework in a mid-century modern home. The casework is specifically built to meet the accessibility needs of our wheelchair bound client while at the same time providing areas for standing use. The space provides a highly functional environment that is easier and more frequently used by both the client and her guests.
The counter steps down at the sink and cooktop to provide easier access to these regularly used appliances. Upper cabinets are equipped with pull-down shelving mechanisms and pull-out pantries and an extending lazy-susan maximize accessible storage space. Other custom items include a drawer dishwasher, a side opening oven, a drawer-mounter cutting board, an extending mixer shelf and a flip-up counter. It’s a Swiss-army kitchen contained in a neatly refined framework of Birch and solid surface.
